Willem Dafoe’s Guide to Cardiff

Have you ever wondered what an Oscar nominated actor would do when spending a week in Cardiff? Well wonder no more. Hollywood star Willem Dafoe has been spotted out and about in the Welsh capital while making his latest film, and he’s racked up quite a list!

Mowgli

The first we heard about Willem’s adventures in Cardiff was his taste for Indian street food. He was pictured with staff at on Church Street on not one but two nights in a row!

With a seal of approval from the Hollywood actor, Mowgli is the perfect place to enjoy authentic Indian street food packed full of flavour. and experience it for yourself.

The Principality Stadium

No trip to the Welsh capital is complete without a trip to the Principality Stadium, the home of Welsh Rugby. Spotted in the crowd watching the opening match of the Six Nations, Willem enjoyed the full Cardiff experience at the

“You know I’m something of a Six Nations fan myself”

After the match, Willem headed to , Park Place. Giovanni Malacrino, the founder of Giovanni’s – which also has branches on The Hayes and in Cardiff Bay – said Dafoe’s appearance was “one of the best highlights I’ve had in years”.

Just like the actor, Giovanni’s has won awards for its excellence.

Lezzet Turkish Kitchen

Next on his Cardiff foodie tour, Willem popped into for some authentic Turkish cuisine. Located on St Mary Street, Lezzet is a great spot to enjoy Turkish staples and Mediterranean food.

National Museum Cardiff / Amgueddfa Cymru

Looking for some culture, Willem headed to . PCSOs Surinder Singh Taak and Keith Cooper were a little surprised when they bumped into the Hollywood actor while hosting their ‘Cuppa with a Copper’ event. From natural history to fine art, the National Museum is full and culture and is a major community hub in the capital often hosting events for families and local communities.

Well there you have it, Cardiff according to Defoe! We hope to see him back in the Welsh capital soon.
